Nigeria: Mining - Turkey Company Plans 40,000 Jobs for Nigerians





A Turkish quarry firm investors have said that they have laid out plans to create over 40,000 jobs in Nigeria.
Managing Director of Zeberced Limited, Adil Kurt made this known yesterday when the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Steel, Mr Linus Awute, represented the minister during tour of quarry companies operating in Abuja.

The company, he said had a 250 hectare of land at Idu, Abuja, which would create an industrial free zone in the city.
He said the industrial free zone would create about 178 factories, which would in turn provide jobs for Nigerians.
"We are trying to understand the potential of Nigeria, we are thinking of bringing in more Turkish investors to this country," he said
He called on the ministry to address the problems of unlicensed quarries because if affect the business in a very negative way.
The permanent secretary, in his comment said most of the companies operating without licences began operations before the creation of the Minerals Act.
"Our duty is to be in touch with these people to tell them that there are new laws, we are proceeding to different quarries to deliver these messages," he said.
