Column Trust Limited – An indigenous company has an outsourcing/Training Division that specializes in the provision and management of contract staff in all categories as well as the selection and placement of temporary staff for corporate organizations (including The Banks, Oil and Gas, services Telecoms, Manufacturing, Construction & Allied Industry, Hospitals Healthcare Companies and Multilateral Organizations).


Our Client, an International Construction Company is looking for the services of qualified individuals to work at their Lagos project:

Job Title: Planning‐Engineer

Location: Lagos
Reporting to: General Manager‐Planning and Cost Control

Job Summary

Apply Project management and planning knowledge to project and operate project management tools and techniques to meet the project requirements of projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and schedule the project by developing a project master schedule in line with the proposal requirements through the application of the primavera P6 software.
Identify the project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks and targets to determine the staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project through the project measurement system.
Implement the work schedule and monitor progress of the work for timely execution of the project through daily/weekly/monthly/ reports with respect to review of the overall project.
Progress monitoring of specific projects on a regular basis. Anticipate and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts. Prepare and maintain package work plans and monitor progress to achieve on time or earlier deliveries to keep the project on schedule.
Co‐ordinate internal project team reviews followed by an approval and review by the client of the work schedule, progress measurement and reporting systems. Review status reports, modify schedules and plans as required and keep the management and Project director apprised of the progress on a regular basis.
Ensure that project controls documents such as resources histogram, schedules, reporting systems, material controls systems, etc. are fully developed by the designated personnel and reviewed by Construction Management and that engineering and Procurement interfaces are properly addressed.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Supervisor.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Complies with the Project and Company safety procedures and regulations.
Updates job knowledge by participating in Company sponsored training or seminars opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks and participates in professional organizations.
Qualifications/Requirements and Experience

Minimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and industrial Engineering from a recognized University or Colleges.
3 to 5 years’ experience in project planning role, preferably working for first class  construction contractor. International experience is an advantage but not a requirement.
PMP‐Project Management Professional Primavera course version 6 or later version (an advantage).
TRAINING: ISO 9001 Training.
Computer Knowledge: Knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Outlook, and Auto Cad  is advantage.
Other Requirements:

Minimum – 25 years old.
Maximum – 32 years old.
Physically strong and healthy.
Does not suffer from vertigo.
Working Condition:

Can work with less supervision and under pressure.
